Alexander the Great Video Pt. 2

When Alexander conquered Egypt, he allowed them to freely practice their religion and culture. In return, they named him pharaoh, or god-king. He then moved on to conquer the rest of the Persian empire starting in 331 B.C at the battle of Gaugamela. His troops were outnumbered 3:1 but Alexander used the hammer and anvil technique to trap the Persians and destroy their army. Darius fled into the mountains where he was then murdered by one of his officers. In India, a huge army including 250 war elephants met Alexander. He defeated their army and his troops wanted to go home after 8 years and 17,000 miles. Alexander died at the age of 32 in Babylon.
